Christmas time!

Merry Christmas!

I hope you had fun and put yourself into a food coma. What did Santa bring you?
I got these:

My new babies!

They are so comfy! I was looking for the ones without heels with the sheep wool but I couldn't find them anywhere so I decided on those instead :)

Then I went shopping with my sister (I hadn't shopped in sooo long, I was going into withdrawal!) and bought these:

I bought this jacket in River Island because I loved the shorts that went with it, but unfortunately they were all gone by the time I got there. I'm hoping they'll have them in the city centre :) I wasn't going to get it but it's so pretty, I love velvet and the pockets are huge and very drapey :)

I bought the dress (couldn't find a picture of it on it's own) in Bershka. (It goes with my new shoes!)

I bought this skirt in H&M, this I really couldn't find a picture of so I got this one from lookbook.nu.

I got this too in River Island, I have a problem for tulle... I have a huge collection of tulle skirts... I actually already had this skirt in grey but I saw it in black and I couldn't resist. :D

So I had a very good shopping day and only spend €60  :D I love sales!!!

Peanut Butter Cheesecake

I know I shouldn't, but I really want one....

Nom nom nom

Thankfully (for my waistline), this little baby is only available in a shop in New Jersey.... But look at it go... It has Reese's peanut butter cups on top of it, next to whipped cream. I think this should be called Death by Peanut Butter (It's actually called Peanut Butter perfection).

It was made by a mother/son team who have a shop called Sweet Indulgences in New Jersey.
They can be found at:

There you can find a gallery of their delicious cakes.

Yes, those are brownies on top of a cheesecake! :D

You can find the recipe here: Vanilla Creme Brulée

Forever 21 and New Look

A new Forever 21 shop is going to open in Dublin tomorrow. I believe it is the first store they are opening in Europe and I'm very excited. My friend Rachel and I are going to go visit the new store tomorrow! There is also a new New Look in the the same building so we're going to have a shopping day. We're also going to go visit Ikea so we're covering a lot of ground :)

I was looking at the Forever 21 website and they have a lot of nice things. Here are a few that I really liked :)

I love this dress,  I probably wouldn't wear it like that, most likely with some tights and boots (like the brown ones below) and a cardigan. Love the colour!

I am a bag person (as well as many other things, hats, scarves, shoes, and so on) and I know I really shouldn't be buying more bags, because I really do have enough, but I love these two. Nowadays I tend to only buy bags that will fit my laptop because I bring it with me everywhere. Those would be perfect for college :)

I love these boots, love the colour, love the slight heel. They're very Sydney Fox (Relic Hunter) and I love Sydney Fox!

I thought these were very clever, I love peacock feathers, the problem is that they are very delicate, the rim would be a good way of not damaging them.

I love stripes! The colour combination is lovely in this dress although it is a bit short...

Tomorrow should be lots of fun

Lace brownies

I saw these brownies yesterday and knew that these were the brownies for me. It looks delicious and looks amazing! The woman who designed this cake was asked to do it for Dolce & Gabbana (I didn't know there was designer cakes!), well, for their online magazine. She drew her inspiration from the Fall 2010/2011 runway show.

The article can be found here:  (http://swide.com/luxury-magazine/Life/Food/brownie-recipe/2010/10/30)

And her recipe here: http://cafefernando.com/brownies-for-dolce-gabbana/

I am definitely going to try this one out; although I probably will skip the several attempts at making a beautiful lattice of tempered chocolate, I don't think I'd have the patience!

Pomplamoose and Nataly Dawn

Today's post is about music! It is about this band I found on youtube while searching for "la vie en rose", it was one of those moments where you have a song in your head for so long that it takes over your mind until you listen to it. I found Pomplamoose's cover and ended up listening to all their songs and covers. My favourite was their cover of September by Earth Wind and Fire, because I adore that song!

The singer, Nataly, studied French in college, which of course makes me love her more. On her own youtube channel I found this cover of a french sonnet that she adapted into a song. It was stuck in my head for several days :)

You can buy their music on iTunes and find them here:

Luxirare's gratin extraordinaire!

Luxirare is a ridiculously talented woman who makes a variety of things such as coats, dresses, killer handbags and food.
I thought this would be a good first food post because her gratin looks so amazing; that is what food should always be like.

Her post can be found here on her blog :)

Loish

Loish, or Lois van Baarle, is one of my favourite artists. I love her use of colours, a lot of fuschia, teal/green and brown. I also like the very "painter" look of her digital paintings.

She is from the Netherlands and a freelance artist.

You can find more of her beautiful art on her website: http://www.loish.net/

Winter is coming

One of my favourite things about summer going away is that I have an excuse to buy some new clothes for the cooler climate. Living in Ireland means that the climate is quite temperate but there is an awful lot of rain. This is why you need a good pair of boots.

Personally, I'm a fan of Doc Martens, they are my favourite shoes, they look great, they are ridiculously comfortable once broken in (this is quite painful though) and they are waterproof! There is nothing worse than having having your feet soaked at the beginning of a long day. Tan leather has been quite trendy this season so I have my eye on these:

They have a comfy faux-fur lining too for extra warmth :)

I'll have to do some sketches to go with them. The key to not ending up with many items you never wear is to think up of five outfits you can include them in before you buy them, and if you're missing a couple of pieces it's a good excuse for having to pick up extra stuff too :)

Other possible candidates are the Docs with heels. I own a pair of black shiny ones and they are the most comfortable heels I have ever worn. The heel is thick thus stable and the platform at the front reduces the impact of the sole of your foot. I've been looking at these brown ones too:

These look amazing, I love buckles!

Hopefully I'll have some cute sketches for you soon :)

In the beginning

I decided to start a blog about my three favourite things: art, fashion and of course food. These are the three things I could not live without. Art is a very broad topic including everything from painting to photography, music, sculpture, jewelry, well you get my drift. I will do my best to bring you things that I enjoy, things that make me smile and things that just tickle my fancy.

I hope you enjoy this blog and that it puts a smile on your face.

This is currently my favourite artist, I found her on deviantart years ago. Her name is Viet-My Bui, also know as Ravenskar. She is based in Australia and is of Vietnamese ethnicity. She has an amazing digital painting style, draws the cutest "What I wore" sketches and dabbles in photography. As an artist, I hope that someday I'm as good as she is.

You should go read her blog here: http://vm-bui.com/
