Pomplamoose and Nataly Dawn

Today's post is about music! It is about this band I found on youtube while searching for "la vie en rose", it was one of those moments where you have a song in your head for so long that it takes over your mind until you listen to it. I found Pomplamoose's cover and ended up listening to all their songs and covers. My favourite was their cover of September by Earth Wind and Fire, because I adore that song!

The singer, Nataly, studied French in college, which of course makes me love her more. On her own youtube channel I found this cover of a french sonnet that she adapted into a song. It was stuck in my head for several days :)

You can buy their music on iTunes and find them here:

Luxirare's gratin extraordinaire!

Luxirare is a ridiculously talented woman who makes a variety of things such as coats, dresses, killer handbags and food.
I thought this would be a good first food post because her gratin looks so amazing; that is what food should always be like.

Her post can be found here on her blog :)

Loish

Loish, or Lois van Baarle, is one of my favourite artists. I love her use of colours, a lot of fuschia, teal/green and brown. I also like the very "painter" look of her digital paintings.

She is from the Netherlands and a freelance artist.

You can find more of her beautiful art on her website: http://www.loish.net/

Winter is coming

One of my favourite things about summer going away is that I have an excuse to buy some new clothes for the cooler climate. Living in Ireland means that the climate is quite temperate but there is an awful lot of rain. This is why you need a good pair of boots.

Personally, I'm a fan of Doc Martens, they are my favourite shoes, they look great, they are ridiculously comfortable once broken in (this is quite painful though) and they are waterproof! There is nothing worse than having having your feet soaked at the beginning of a long day. Tan leather has been quite trendy this season so I have my eye on these:

They have a comfy faux-fur lining too for extra warmth :)

I'll have to do some sketches to go with them. The key to not ending up with many items you never wear is to think up of five outfits you can include them in before you buy them, and if you're missing a couple of pieces it's a good excuse for having to pick up extra stuff too :)

Other possible candidates are the Docs with heels. I own a pair of black shiny ones and they are the most comfortable heels I have ever worn. The heel is thick thus stable and the platform at the front reduces the impact of the sole of your foot. I've been looking at these brown ones too:

These look amazing, I love buckles!

Hopefully I'll have some cute sketches for you soon :)

In the beginning

I decided to start a blog about my three favourite things: art, fashion and of course food. These are the three things I could not live without. Art is a very broad topic including everything from painting to photography, music, sculpture, jewelry, well you get my drift. I will do my best to bring you things that I enjoy, things that make me smile and things that just tickle my fancy.

I hope you enjoy this blog and that it puts a smile on your face.

This is currently my favourite artist, I found her on deviantart years ago. Her name is Viet-My Bui, also know as Ravenskar. She is based in Australia and is of Vietnamese ethnicity. She has an amazing digital painting style, draws the cutest "What I wore" sketches and dabbles in photography. As an artist, I hope that someday I'm as good as she is.
